Welcome to the culinary gem known as Two If By Sea Cafe, nestled in the heart of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Just a short five-minute stroll from the bustling ferry terminal, this café is celebrated for its exceptional range of pastries, particularly their divine croissants. With a menu that features an array of buttery delights—from the classic Butter Croissant to the rich Pain au Chocolat—there is a pastry for every palate.
Upon entering, you are instantly enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that resonates with a community feel. The café has ample seating, and during the summer months, the front windows swing open, creating a delightful breezy ambiance. The charming decor, adorned with playful art on the paper plates, adds an artistic flair, making it a perfect backdrop for savoring your favorite treats while enjoying a cup of their acclaimed coffee.
Coffee enthusiasts won’t want to miss out on their Americano or the luscious Mocha, both of which receive rave reviews from patrons. The service remains impressively swift, even during peak hours, ensuring that you can indulge without a long wait. However, it’s wise to arrive early, as their pastries, especially the Croissant of the Week, tend to sell out quickly by the afternoon.
One of the standout features of Two If By Sea is the communal spirit fostered by its patrons. Customers frequently extol the virtues of the café's ambiance, the friendly staff, and the high quality of the offerings. As Gian Barzellotti aptly puts it, these croissants are touted as the best in all of Canada. The journey across the bridge to Dartmouth is undoubtedly worth it for those flaky, delectable bites alone.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick breakfast or settling in for a cozy afternoon, Two If By Sea Cafe promises a delightful experience that engages all your senses. Don’t miss out on this local treasure; it’s a perfect spot to enjoy the simple pleasures of life over coffee and croissants.

I've been going here for about 10 years. Located 5 minutes from the Dartmouth ferry terminal, they're known for their croissants. The chocolate croissant is a staple. They also have a croissant of the week. There is a good amount of seating available. In summer, they open up the front windows, which is nice. We visited today (a holiday), and while they were extremely busy, service was still very fast. Don't be confused by the sign - there is a delicious pizza place located above (Yeah Yeahs Pizza).

We really enjoyed the coffee and the numerous varieties of pastries. We had the pain au chocolat and a everything croissant, and it was delicious. The vibe was also very nice, we sat upstairs with all the paper plates with art on them, we had a good time looking at the drawings! The americano is great, will go again!

Very cute coffee shop with nice ambience. It can get busy but there are always people coming and going so not hard to get a table. Staff are super friendly and bring your coffee to you! Very nice location, being walking distance to the ferry.

Two If By Sea Cafe is a lovely cafe to visit if you‘re in downtown Dartmouth. They have delicious food and drinks - I‘d recommend the mocha - and a very cute seating area. The only con is that there‘s not a lot of seating and since it‘s a busy area it‘s even harder to get a seat; so if you come be prepared that you might have to get takeout!

BEST CROISSANTS IN CANADA! if you are visiting Halifax do yourself a favour and cross the bridge into Dartmouth and go try these croissants! Best you’ll ever had! Won’t regret the trip over! You’re going to want to go back to visit Halifax only for these croissants! Don’t forget to pair them with a Cafe Moca, they’re great as well! Hint, go early! By 1:00 pm or so, they could sold out!

This is one of lovely cafe in Halifax and Dartmouth. 1. The taste and quality of coffee is obviously over the average levels in Halifax. But do not expect the same quality of coffee in Europe or Asia. 2. Croissants I ordered were not bad and its taste was pretty good. However, it was cold so it should have warmed up. 3. Price is pretty affordable and reasonable due to the enough amount and size of croissants. 4. Cafe vibes are good and this cafe has its own vibes, not franchise feeling. I highly recommend this cafe !
